About AAC – Communication Books and Boards

Communication boards are special tools that help people with disabilities communicate when they have difficulty speaking. These boards have symbols or pictures that represent different words, phrases, or ideas. When a person wants to express something, they can point to or indicate the symbols on the communication board to convey their thoughts or needs. Communication boards are used by individuals who may have trouble speaking due to conditions like autism, speech disorders, or physical limitations. These boards provide a visual way for them to express themselves and communicate with others, helping them to be understood and participate in conversations more effectively. They are often homemade and tailored to the user.
