How does it work?
TechOWL accepts donations of gently-used devices. These are items that the owner no longer needed, but are still in good working condition. All donations are looked over and thoroughly cleaned by our staff. We then give the device to someone in need of it. This saves you money and keeps equipment out of landfills!
Eligibility
Recipients must live in Pennsylvania. There is no other eligibility criteria for using our donation closet. TechOWL tries to keep our programs as barrier-free as possible. You do not need to be referred by a medical professional and you do not need to show documentation of financial need. We believe that people with disabilities have enough hoops to jump through to access other services! The only information we ask for is your name, address, and agreement to a liability release.

- Adaptive stroller – tilt-in-space 8″ (not folding)
- Picture communication (“AAC”) tablets
- Canes and crutches
- Commodes and toilet risers
- Threshold ramp
- Switches
- Walkers – standard two wheeled or no wheels
- Wheelchairs – standard or transport
All wheelchairs, walkers, and rollators fold easily for transport unless otherwise noted.

Donation Guidelines
What do we accept?
We accept items in good, working condition including:
- Canes
- Commodes*
- Knee scooters
- Rollators
- Shower chairs
- Walkers*
- Wheelchairs (folding manual chairs)
- Communication devices, magnifiers, and other assistive technology with prior approval.
*space permitting
We cannot accept:
- Anything that is rusted, broken, or unsafe to use.
- Disposable items such as wound care supplies, incontinence products, or nutritional formulas.
- Large items such as hospital beds, patient lifts, or power chairs.
- Respiratory equipment such as cpap machines or oxygen concentrators.

Location and Hours
TechOWL cannot pick up or drop off donations. Thank you for making your own transportation arrangements!
Visit us at the community space at 1392 Cecil B Moore Avenue, Philadelphia PA 19122. We’re next to Insomnia Cookies. There is space to park in front of our door and staff available to help you unload.
Walk-in Hours:
- Mondays 10am – 2pm
- Tuesdays 1pm – 5pm
- Wednesdays 10am – 2pm
- Thursdays 1pm – 5pm
